Course Information

Emergency Medical Training is an IDPH Accredited program that has been in service for over 40 years in the heart of Chicago. We offer a comprehensive course inclusive of didactic and practical experience that will prepare you to become a successful Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Our objective is to provide an enjoyable, educational experience that will further prepare you for your career in the medical field. 

 

Didactic instruction is taught by nurses, paramedics and EMT's. The practical skills are led by experienced medical professionals such as lead instructor Jacob Steffan, ADN, RN, EMT-P, LI. 

Class is held every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

 

Courses are 15 weeks in duration & begin in January, May and September. 

Emergency Medical Training was established by Trudy Casey, P.A., EMT-P, CMA/AAMA, IAPA.

 

Casey not only had over 35 years of experience in emergency medicine, but she also became Chicago’s first female paramedic in the early 1970's. 

Within our 15 week structure you will develop your knowledge & skills on:

  • ALS assist

  • Medical Ethics

  • Bandaging & Splinting 

  • Bleeding & Shock 

  • Medical Terminology  

  • OG/GYN related Emergencies

  • Oxygen & Airway 

  • Patient Assessment & Vital Signs

  • Medical Emergencies 

  • Pharmacology

  • Pulmonary & Cardiovascular Disorders

  • Trauma Emergencies 

& More​

Ambulance ride time is included & upon successful completion of the program you will have the ability to complete your National Board Exams. Our students operate at a 99% success rate.
